Oh, this is extremely useful advice - I really do feel like I am designing my own adventure! After getting some foundational knowledge through BlueDot courses, I felt overwhelmed and almost like I was about to lose the plot trying to fill in my knowledge gap through endless readings! I agree that working on projects is the best way to go - I'm trying to enter in sideways by offering operations (project and event management, comms) skills I gained from nuclear security. Thanks for offering your suggestions!

Hi Leyla! Thanks for your comment :) super happy to hear you found some of the advice here valuable.

Also, there's definitely a need for more event management + comms folks in the field! If you'd like, it might be useful for you to fill out this career doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hYU1kvvhkd1NLOREZ-FYUO9AwFId1THHGiTYC8xBF5Q/edit?usp=sharing (request access) and I can try routing it to folks I know who might be a good fit.

Best of luck with your career transition! 🍀
